Snow in the Park
Snow falls early and melts late in the beautiful mountains of Glacier National Park. Although St. Mary is accessible year-round from Highways 2 and 89, it takes many weeks of plowing and warm weather to open Going-to-the-Sun Road, the steep, scenic drive that bisects the Park.
Plowing of the Going-to-the-Sun Road begins in April each year. The Park anticipates that the road will be fully open across Logan Pass around June 22. For the latest information, visit Glacier's "Where are the Plows?" page.
